History

Tankist is uncompromising thrash metal: Time and place are of no significance – music, honesty and ferocity are what matter.

2014 was the beginning of the band's concert activity and the release of their homemade debut demo 'Mortuary', released as a cassette by local label Trash Can Dance.

In 2015 a merciless speed-thrash EP 'Be Offended' was unleashed. In 2015 and 2016 the band shot out a three new singles ('Mutilator', 'I Live... Again!' and 'Death Division') and a cover for the international project 'Trench Art – A Tribute to Loits' ('Vanade leegionäride laul').

In November 2017 Tankist released their savage debut LP 'Unhuman' - nine stabbing thrash metal tracks that are led by the spirit of old-school, saying fearlessly what's wrong with the modern world, injected with adventurous violence and miserable thoughts. The hundred riff long journey surges along the edge, staying true to the principle: "Fucking-fist-in-the-face songs, brutally honest whole."

Tankist have rumbled with legends like Havok, Arcturus, The Exploited, Loits etc., played at their homeland's leading metal festival Hard Rock Laager and come out on top at the national rock and metal band competition FUBAR 666 where they subjugated more than 20 great groups.
