the editorial bit

Welcome to Archaic Metallurgy. We are about metal music. We have reviews, interviews and other stuff for you to see.

First: The website's design is absolutely archaic. If your eyes aren't as they used to be and it's hard to read small text, why not press ctrl and + keys to zoom in on your browser, thank you.

To labels and other than metal bands (read this before anything else): Please, take into your consideration, that Archaic Metallurgy is a metal music website. We've been sent some other style music lately, so these releases may be reviewed and featured in "other" section's non-metal reviews page, if we have time to give them a spin. Please, send metal music only!

We get a lot of promotional material, by post and email. There is a simple rule: The CD pile goes first, only after then it's time for mp3's (probably not possible to review all this digital promo stuff). DO NOT SEND HUGE E-MAIL PACKAGES INCLUDING MP3'S, PLEASE!!! Some of those bands who are going to get their stuff reviewed soon: Snake Eyes, Municipal Waste etc. (and then those non-metal albums, perhaps; thank you)... Nothing will be forgotten (although this might happen with some NON-METAL releases sent, mind you), so thank you for your patience! Because we do not listen to a release only once or twice, but prefer more than 10 listenings per release before writing something.

Archaic Metallurgy is growing all the time. We need more staff. We mainly specialize in reviews and interviews, but also other metal music related articles can be published on this site.

If you're interested in contributing by writing, we would be more than happy. This website is not about making money, so we cannot pay you for your had work. This is a hobby for metalheads! We love this music and we love to write about it, too. It's a lifestyle.

So, here's the address, to which you can send your stuff: lane(AT)archaicmetallurgy.com .

Stay METAL!

- Thee Ed Lane

It all began during the first lockdown (March/June 2020) in the mind of ZagZero (real name: Stephane H. - guitarist and composer in Akphaezya). The debut album 'Des chemins de vie' was released digitally on December 5th, 2021.
